Time Video

This video piece was 2 minutes and 29 seconds. The sound was a Tibetian bell and a recording of water. I was the person ringing the bell while I was video taping the images in slide show form on my laptap, the water was addded later in the video editing program Pinnacle Studio Plus. All the photographs were shot by me using a 35mm digital camera and a point and shoot. Sizes vary all except the one that was split and flipped and reattached to create the mirror effect are staright shots no manipulation.

The process...

These images were shot using a 35mm digital SLR camera , they were meant to be viewed on screen only.

I had to experiment a bit to decide on the final form. Spent time moving objects around until I settled on the format.

Time Time Time...

See what's become of me-as i look around for my possibilites.....

originally i had this very grandiose sculptural piece in mind and obviously that changed to this. I was inspired by many sources many films strangely. I fight video because it is so natural to me and i like to make tangible things, but oddly time too me-is intangible in many ways. Time to me is obvious only in the accumulation of objects/ memories. Time is snow falling or rain or lightening. Time is pregnancy and death at the same time. Time is vanishing and reappearing. the term cairn rfers to stacked stones in a conical shape in or to act as a monument .

Sunset 3/21/08

These images were shot as the sun was setting with a digital 35mm point and shoot camera. There are all unaltred save for the mirror image shots. They are meant to be viewed on screen.

This was the evening that my project on time came together. I shot the photos for the video as the sun was setting and simultaneously shot images around me. The stills of the mirrors reflected the clouds overhead. I don't knnow if this will read in the video you kinda have to pay close attention. Which i learned doesn't happen ass much as it should. Mysense of time during this nite was expanded and slowed down. I watched the clouds change in the mirrors and the sky.

time project --original thoughts

Time moves in more than one direction. Time is evident in the accumulating and vanishing of objects and perhaps memories.Time is decay and growth.Time is death and birth. Time is a reflection of change inside us from the outside world.
